This summary represents all that we have discovered.
Services and Features Available
Our A-Writer review of services and features learned that the company’s products and services are related solely to academic writing, for students at all academic levels through Ph.D. study. Products include all of the normal assignment writing that students commonly receive as they proceed from high school forward.
Services include editing and proofreading, as well as online homework assistance in all subject fields and multiple-choice test-taking.
Relative to special features, we found nothing unique. Customer support is available by telephone and live chat, and we did confirm the 24-hour nature of this support by engaging in chat at a variety of times.
Pricing System and Discounts
A-Writer prices are a bit unusual, in that there is no distinction of the price per page among academic levels. Thus, a high school student pays the same price for a basic essay as a Ph.D. dissertation student does. The only price differentiations relate to the deadline requirements. Prices range from $21.99 a page to $49.99 a page with deadlines ranging from 3 hours to 10 days. Our research paper of 8 pages was priced at $191.92, before applying the A-Writer discounts that are given to new customers – 25%. To get that discount we had to contact customer support, because while it was advertised on the site, there was no A-Writer coupon code provided for that field in the order form.
We found no evidence of loyalty discounts and no promise of any A-Writer promo codes that might be offered from time to time, as is normal with other services.
Security Level (and how to proceed with payment)
We found sound security practices in place, including a third-party processor that is SSL-certified and reputable. Customers should have no concerns about confidentiality and protections of personal and financial information.
Payments methods are similar to other writing services – all major credit cards, PayPal, and wire transfers are accepted.
Writers’ Expertise and Delivery
This facet of our A-Writer.com review gave us the greatest cause for concern. There were no sample writings on the site for us to review, so a determination of quality had to be made based upon the quality of the text on the site itself and the single research paper that we ordered.
The site boasts writers from the U.S. and UK who all possess Masters or Ph.D. degrees. Perhaps it would be wise, then, for one of those writers to review and edit the writing on the site pages. They are filled with grammatical and word usage errors, and this leave a bad impression. They may, however, cater to ESL students, as A-Writer reviews found on the site were predominantly from students in Eastern European countries.
The research paper we received reflected errors similar to those found in the site content, and we had to contact our writer directly through our account portal to discuss resources, because there were no fields to designate this in the order form. Still, the resources used were clearly beneath the level expected for a college paper. We received our paper on time.
Another issue related to writing and delivery came up when we instituted a chat with customer support to discuss a Ph.D. dissertation. We were told that a 150-page dissertation could be written and delivered within 5 days. This is, of course, impossible, unless existing dissertations are being used and simply re-written. A big red flag.
Additional Benefits
Put succinctly, there are none. While other services offer free title and bibliography pages, this is not the case at A-Writer. There are guarantee of no plagiarism and privacy along with free revisions and direct communication with one’s writer.
Conclusion
While we can say that A-Writer is legit, we have big concerns about writing quality and production methods. We are therefore assigning an initial A-Writer.com rating of “Poor.” Perhaps with time, things will improve and we will re-visit this review.
