EssayUp is a website for essay writing that has been popping up more and more in sponsored ads and marketing campaigns. Supposedly, they can do a pretty good job in terms of essay writing – but are their claims true? We are here to find out exactly that.
SERVICES AND FEATURES AVAILABLE
When it comes to services provided, there isn’t much that this website is not able to offer. They offer all of the standard products, from typical essays to admission essays, article reviews, research papers, problem-solving, dissertations, and so on.
The levels they offer are also for everyone. You can go for high school, college, university, and Ph.D. papers, from a variety of subjects of discipline. According to EssayUp, they have writers available for any kind of discipline, ensuring that the paper you get is well-researched and backed up by previous research.
That said, this website also provides editing and proofreading services for those who already have their paper, but simply need a few extra tweaks on it. You may also hire them for their rephrasing services if you already have a paper, but you simply need it rewritten.
What we did not like, however, is that you cannot see their list of services until you start an order. There is no particular page for you to see the services provided, so if you just want to see what they have to provide, you will have to feign an order.
PRICING SYSTEM AND DISCOUNTS
According to their website, prices start at $10 for high school essays – putting them in the average area of essay writing prices. That being said, similar to the list of services, you cannot see a clear list of their prices unless you go onto their order form and fill in the details. Once you added everything from the topic and the discipline to the number of references used, you should be able to calculate an average price for your order.
There is a promo code for first-time users, but the problem is that you cannot actually how much it takes off the price until you place the order. Upon testing, we saw that the discount is 5%. That said, a person that wasn’t exactly certain whether or not they wanted to place an order would be unable to find out exactly how much it takes off the price.
As for coupon codes, so far, we’ve seen nothing that returning customers could benefit from; only the newcomers. Since there is no actual discounts page, you cannot know for certain whether or not customers can take advantage of progressive essays for bigger orders.
Additional services may also add more to the price. For example, a plagiarism report will cost you $9.99, and an abstract page will charge you $14.99 extra. If you need your paper to be of high priority, you may also pay an extra of $14.99.
Just to give an example of the price of a paper. One page for a college-level paper written by the “best available” writer on a 3-day deadline will cost you $24.70. Obviously, the more changes you make, the more the prices will begin to vary.
SECURITY LEVEL
In terms of security, we haven’t encountered any issues so far. EssayUp uses two of the easiest yet safest payment methods out there: credit cards and PayPal. PayPal is the smoothest, as all it takes are a couple of clicks to get things done. Credit cards are also great, as the website uses special encryption to make matters safe for the users.
Since every payment that we made resulted in us receiving a paper in return, we cannot make any mentions of fraud there. Everything works in a legal matter, from the payment method to the privacy policy and guarantees. Legally-speaking, these people are professionals and won’t try to steal your money – at least not intentionally. We’ll get back on this later on, as we are discussing the expertise of the writers.
WRITER EXPERTISE AND DELIVERY
The writers on EssayUp have quite a mixed reputation on the internet. Some people say that they are very good at their job, whereas others claim that they are not professional enough to handle essays of certain levels. The answer to that is that in truth, neither is wrong.
This website has two types of writers on board: native writers that have been dealing with English ever since they learned how to speak, and ESL writers that hold a degree, proving that they are proficient in the English language. Or at least, that is the claim. Sadly, we were unable to find any actual proof or credentials for these writers – and at this point, all we can do is take their word on it.
The website gives you the option to choose your preferred writer. However, since you do not know who the writers are, a beginner may have difficulties in choosing a good writer. We can only assume this option is for returning customers that want to continue with the same writer – therefore not giving away to their professor that they are using an essay writing service.
Our experience with EssayUp was so-so. We ordered a paper from them, and while we did get a paper where the writer did their best to respect the requirements, the paper had many flaws. The essay was not formatted in the way that we requested it, there were several spelling and grammar mistakes, and the resources used were mediocre. We expected to see many academic journals, but all we saw were blog spots and Wikipedia pages. It was not the professionalism that we were looking for.
Our paper was delivered on time, but we also found certain reviews where people complained of late delivery. Making an average, the service was not as late as to push it into the next day; however, if you are on a strict deadline and depend on a paper to arrive at a certain time, late delivery can be inconvenient.

We could give this essay writing service no more than 3 stars. Indeed, it has quite a few perks – and depending on the writer, you might get quite a good paper. However, considering the money you pay, it is still quite the gamble. If you don’t like taking risks for a low price, you might want to find an alternative.
